What is Casa Mercurio?
Casa Mercurio is many things. A concept, an idea, a house, a space, a gathering, a shared set of beliefs. It can be, in many ways, whatever you want it to be.
Ok, but specifically, what does that mean to you? It depends on your relationship. If you’re volunteering at one of the neighbouring farms, it means you might come here to share internet, enjoy our hot showers, to share food or explore the local psychedelic mushrooms. If you’re travelling through San Isidro you might drop by here, maybe stay for a few days. If you live nearby in San Isidro or around you might come to one of our events, or maybe drop in randomly to say hello, eat, internet, share, shower…
There are a collection of houses set amongst trees here. Ruben and Callum rent one of the houses from 22 May to 21 September. Tomas has rented a second house for the month of June, maybe longer. Boni and Katja live in the other houses. There is an internet connection shared between the houses. We have computers we’re willing to let people use.
The physical space is our home, not a homeless shelter. We expect that people who come here have the means, financial or otherwise, to leave at some point. We have a donation box and we’re happy to let each person decide on the appropriate contribution for them. Principally, we hope to cover some food and household costs through donations. I’m continually amazed at how much toilet paper visitors use!

Apologies for the slow reply, yes, we’ve all moved on, the house is no longer occupied by us.
